Before the Event

Packet Pickup Day:
Participants may pickup their racer packets, swag bags and shirts on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 2:00-5:00 PM.  In celebration of our 10th Anniversary Run, we are having a registration party at MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 220 Cedar Street, Sandpoint. Participants are encouraged to check-in at the Beer Hall during this time so they have everything needed to hit the course on Sunday morning. The first 100 attendees will receive a free beer!  This time frame is also the last opportunity to register for the races. Participants may also receive their packets on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 6:00-7:30 AM. No race day registrations will be permitted.

Race Start Times:
Please be aware of your scheduled race time and plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of your race.

  • The Half Marathon race will begin promptly at 8:00AM.
  • The 10K race will begin, following the Half Marathon start, at 8:15AM.

Course Closure:
Before registering, please consider that you are required to complete your race by Noon and plan accordingly.

Parking & Arrival Information:
Free parking is available all throughout downtown Sandpoint on Sundays. It is suggested that participants park outside of Sandpoint City Beach and walk to the race start line, as the parking lot will not become available for vehicles to enter and leave the beach area until after the course closes.

Upon arrival participants who have not checked in and picked up their packets may do so at the registration booth. All other participants may stretch, warm up and explore the other booths in the grassy area around the start line.

Waivers & Medical Information:
It is required that all race participants agree to and sign the Release and Waiver Liability Agreement. This information may be found on the Scenic Half website, the online registration and downloadable registration form.

It is very important that each racer write the following medical information on the back of their bib in case of an emergency: full name, phone number, address, list of allergies, details of any ongoing medical problems and a list of current medications and supplements.

What to Bring:
It is very important you remember to bring your race bib. Since this is a timed event, bib numbers are assigned to specific, individual participants and cannot be easily changed. In the event that you lose or forget your bib please find a Race Official as soon as possible.

What to Wear:
The weather in Sandpoint in September varies but is typically a pleasant 60-65 degrees. It is suggested that participants dress in layers, and be prepared for potential rainfall and wind.

Bag Drop and Lost & Found Area:
A secure fenced area located at the start line will be available for participants to drop off their personal items (backpacks, extra clothing, car keys, etc.) before the races. Items will be bagged and tagged your race bib number. You may also leave items at any of the aide stations along the course. These items will be available for pick up at the bag drop location at the end of the race. Please have your racer bib with you when you drop off and pick up your items. It is suggested you wear clothing that can be tossed and forgotten, as any unclaimed items at the end of the event will be donated.
